WISE OWL WEEKLY

Oak Knoll Early Childhood Center

October 9, 2026

Happy Friday, Oak Knoll Families!

As I began writing this week's Wise Owl Weekly, it seems that last week's message was never published!  I'm not quite sure how this happened so I do apologize for any missed information and appreciate your understanding.

PHYSICALS DUE BY OCT. 15

As a reminder for all parents, all physicals and immunization records are due to the health office by October 15th.  If we do not have a copy of your child's physical and immunization records on file, or a confirmed medical appointment, your child will be EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL on October 15th until we receive the appropriate documentation.  This is a state law, not a Cary 26 expectation.

OCTOBER 30 EARLY RELEASE

Our next early release day is Friday, October 30th.

Kindergarten car riders/walkers will be released starting at 11:50, with bus riders shortly after.

Preschool arrival begins at 8:45 and dismissal will begin at 11:20.

**Different preschool classes will attend on each half day so that everyone has as
much of an opportunity to come to school as possible.

Please see this document for details.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION

Apartment Complex Next to Oak Knoll

We received a call from the property manager of the apartments next to Oak Knoll.  He mentioned that some tenants have complained that we have parents walking through their lot and that someone almost hit a person.  If you are able to use a different route, I would encourage you to do so.  If you are unable, please be mindful of the cars in the lot and the people who live in the complex.  Thank you for your help!

PTO INFORMATION

WALK-A-THON UPDATE

Due to the weather, the Oak Knoll Walkathon has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 14.

While we have to wait a little longer for Walkathon Day, that gives us more time to reach our fundraising goal! We are getting closer every day, so keep sharing your child’s fundraising page with family and friends. Fundraising will remain open through October 14, and there is still time for students to register, raise funds, and earn prizes!

Help us reach our goal:
Thank you for all of your support. Let’s use these extra two weeks to cross that fundraising finish line!

**This is NOT an event parents attend unless you are a volunteer.
